How to use the PDF to Word Converter

  2. Wait while its text is extracted and organized into paragraphs and headings.
  3. Review the preview, then download the .docx file.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. Text extraction and the Word file generation both happen entirely in your browser — the file is never sent to a server.

Will the converted document look exactly like the PDF?

No — this extracts and reflows the text into a standard Word document; it doesn't try to reproduce the PDF's exact visual layout. It works well for text-heavy documents like letters, reports, and articles. Multi-column layouts, complex tables, and precise page design will be flattened into plain paragraphs rather than faithfully recreated — that level of layout reconstruction isn't realistic to do accurately outside of paid, specialized software.

How does it decide what's a heading?

It compares each line's font size to the most common ("body text") font size in the document. Noticeably larger text is treated as a heading; everything else becomes a normal paragraph.

What if my PDF is a scanned image?

This tool reads text that's already embedded in the PDF — it doesn't perform OCR (optical character recognition) on scanned pages. If your PDF is a photo or scan with no underlying text layer, there will be nothing to extract.

Are images from the PDF included?

No, only text is extracted. Images, charts, and other graphics are not carried over into the Word document.
